Looking for affordable, neat and fully equipped self-catering (self-contained) accommodation in Namibia? Look no further than Grunau Chalets.
Grunau is a tiny town in the southern region of Namibia, 140km north of Noordoewer. Grunau Lodge was built in 1996 to offer self-catering (self-contained) accommodation to travellers - chalets as well as a campsite - on the road between Cape Town and Windhoek.
The offices of the Grunau Lodge is easy to find: next to the Shell garage on the main road in Grunau.
The six chalets are fully equipped. Each site in the campsite offers electricity as well as its own shower, toilet, braai and wash basin.
Grunau Lodge offers a perfect stop-over for tourists travelling between Namibia and South Africa. After a long drive, you can take a refreshing shower, light a campfire and experience the Namibian sunset.
Grunau Lodge also has a restaurant (with the best home-made pies in the country), a shop (stocking anything from postcards to Namibian biltong) and a kiosk.
